Celebrate your fun-filled day at Chabot Space & Science Center with one of our more popular packages. Play with the stars by checking out all our interactive exhibits and seeing a show in our state-of-the-art Planetarium or our MegaDome Theater!

POLAR ICE CREAM (1 Hour Activity) - Ages 5 & Up

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Can you tell the difference between the polar caps on Earth and Mars? Learn how and why things freeze by making your very own ice cream.

SOLAR CAR CHALLENGE - (2 Hour Activity) - Ages 8 & Up

Solar energy is one of the best ways you can help the environment. We can't think of a better way to show off this concept than by having kids design, build and race Lego solar cars! Rain or shine, come and see how fast, tall and creative you can make your car.

POP ROCKETS (1 Hour Activity) - Ages 8 & Up

Have you ever wanted to launch a rocket into orbit? Roll up your sleeves and stand back as you send your own space shuttle off into the wild blue yonder - with the help of our space commander!

Celebrate your party the carefree way! Get your party a cosmic deal on some great food packages which include entrees, salads and beverages! The best part is that you don’t have to stress about preparing or bringing the food as it will delivered right to your room in time for party blast off!

Food orders must be placed at least 48 hours in advance.

RESERVATIONS

Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance by downloading the Birthday Party Request Form, filling it out and sending it by fax to (510) 336-7491 or email to groupsales@chabotspace.org.
Upon receipt of the request form, we will contact you for your deposit and payment information.

PARTY POLICIES

Payment

A NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 DEPOSIT is required when you reserve a date. A confirmation letter will be sent upon receipt of deposit. THE REMAINING BALANCE IS DUE WITH YOUR FINAL GUEST COUNT AND SHOW CHOICE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED PARTY DATE. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD).

Restrictions

We ask that you not bring balloons, glitter, confetti, or piñatas. These items can be blown into the forest and cause harm to animals.

Entertainment

No entertainment is allowed at birthday parties. We believe that the various shows and activities available at Chabot Space and Science Center will provide your birthday guests with plenty of fun!

Guest Check-In & Parking

Parking is free at Chabot Space & Science Center. You will then check-in with Guest Services and receive your group tickets. (Your reservations will be under the birthday child’s name). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE PARENTS TO DROP OFF THEIR UNESCORTED CHILDREN BEFORE YOU ARRIVE!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  Does the 20 guests in the package mean both kids and adults?

A. The 20 does include both children and adults. Please contact the Group Sales Coordinator for the additional cost of children and adults over 20 headcount.

Q: When does the balance and final headcount need to be paid?

A: The final balance and headcount (both children and adults) needs to be paid no later than one week prior to the party.

Q:  Can I pay for last minute guests at the door?

A. Yes, you would pay for them at the door.

Q. Is there a host in the room?

A. You will have a Chabot staff member that will assist you through out your time at the center. However, we do not provide a full time staff member in the room with you.

Q. Are parents of the birthday child included in the guests count?

A. Yes, unless they are a members.

Q. Do you have a fridge to store a cake?

A. We do not have fridge space for your food but can supply a storage area and cart to store your items until needed. You can bring in an ice chest to keep food cold.

Q. Does Chabot supply goodie bags?

A. Goodie Bags can be purchased at the time of booking at discounted rate and will be ready on the day of your party. Please let the Group Sales Coordinator know of your add-on when booking.

Q. Do the activities+shows need to be done within the 1 hour table time?

A. No, the 1 hour is just your reserved table time for the party portion of your event. Your guests can enjoy the center for the entire day if they like.  They can also purchase additional movie tickets for that day at the group rate price.

Q. What supplies do I need to bring – table cloths, decorations, etc?

A. The tables in the tent and room are between 54” and 60” rounds. You will need to bring the following items: paper plates, cups and napkin, plastic silverware, decorations (no confetti or balloons), birthday cake, candles and a lighter.
