Getting to Chabot Space & Science Center

Public Transportation

For school groups of 20 or more, a new demand-responsive system is being created. Groups must call (510) 891-4966 at least 48 hours in advance to arrange for pickup along the former Number 53 route. This service is only available between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm, and regular fares apply. Please contact AC Transit for further information.

By Car

From Oakland: Take the 35th Avenue exit from I-580 toward the hills. 35th Avenue becomes Redwood Road. Turn left onto Skyline Boulevard and follow the signs to Chabot.

From East Contra Costa County (Orinda/Walnut Creek,): Take Highway 24 West to Highway 13 South (toward Hayward). Take the Joaquin Miller Road exit left and follow the signs to Chabot.

From West Contra Costa County (Albany/Richmond): Take I-80 West to Highway 24 East (toward Walnut Creek) to Highway 13 South (toward Hayward). Take the Joaquin Miller Road exit left and follow the signs to Chabot.

From San Francisco: Take I-80 East to I-580 East. Take Highway 24 East (toward Walnut Creek) to Highway 13 South (toward Hayward). Take the Joaquin Miller Road exit left and follow the signs to Chabot.

From Marin County: Take I-580 East to Highway 24 East (toward Walnut Creek) to Highway 13 South (toward Hayward). Take the Joaquin Miller Road exit left and follow the signs to Chabot.

From Hayward, Castro Valley, and points east:  Take I-580 West, then take Highway 13 North (toward Berkeley). Exit at Joaquin Miller Road and turn right. Drive up the hill, turn left onto Skyline Boulevard and follow the signs to Chabot.

From the South Bay: Take I-880 North to Highway 238 East. Take I-580 West, then take Highway 13 North (toward Berkeley). Exit at Joaquin Miller Road and turn right. Drive up the hill, turn left onto Skyline Boulevard and follow the signs to Chabot.

Chabot is on Skyline Boulevard 1.3 miles from the Skyline Boulevard / Joaquin Miller Road signal light. Turn right up the driveway at the sign for Chabot Space & Science Center.

Parking

Convenient parking (free with admission) is available in the adjacent 3-level parking structure or in the Knoll Lot off Skyline Blvd.
